Have you ever wondered how much credit actually gets sent to your house each year?

On average, there are more than 5 billion (yes, billion) credit card offers sent out each year. The “pre-approved” credit that is offered with those mailings totals up to an average of … stop and get a hold of yourself for a second … $350,000 per family.

That’s a lot of money!

And it gives you an idea of how out of whack our credit system is. The average family earns about $40,000 per year in income. There is no way that a family should be able to get almost ten times it’s annual income in credit cards. That’s insane.

More detail about those stats can be found in this articleWarning: although this is a very good article, some of the examples are a little graphic/explicit and may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
